Senate Votes on Prosecuting Mortgage Frauds

The U.S. Senate is going to vote on April 28th in order to give more powers to the government to tackle mortgage and financial fraud which is said to have triggered the current economic crisis. They are also expected to create a commission to investigate the main causes which started the downturn in the economy.

The measures announced would make it easier to prosecute fraud related to trading commodities futures plus options and debt derivatives.

If this new legislation is passed then the government is expected to hire hundreds of lawyers and investigators to begin legal actions against those responsible for the collapse of the housing industry and the economy in general.
